After noticing how rapid the cremation rate was climbing in Sedgwick County,  owners, Bryce and Sally Day decided to offer their services to Wichita and its surrounding communities. In November of 2004, Cornerstone Cremation Society was opened in the College Hill District at Clifton Square. The business quickly became a leading cremation provider in Sedgwick County by offering superior service and catering to the unique needs of those that choose cremation. The Wichita business was unique by being the only “cremation society” in South Central Kansas.

While their facility was unique and functional, its location and size did not allow the business to grow as the market dictated. A decision was made to find a new location for Cornerstone and after careful consideration a former church in Northeast Wichita was purchased. Following nearly two months of remodeling, Cornerstone of Wichita was officially opened.

The facility features decorations that offer a beautiful and contemporary environment with uplifting and peaceful touches of warmth, a spacious foyer/lounge with comfortable seating, large kitchen quarters to serve anything from appetizers and drinks to catered meals from, a roomy event center that was considerately created to accommodate a traditional funeral service or a celebratory reception. Cornerstone of Wichita is carefully designed to provide the community with a facility capable of meeting their needs.
